About Me

My photo
Wulaba Drum
James Gann is the prodigy student of master drummer, Abdoulaye Diallo, from Senegal, West Africa. James began drumming as a young boy following his mother's interest in the congas. He later became interested in West African percussion and has been studying it for the last eight years. He journeyed to West Africa in 2006 to study with other master drummers and to try out some African dance. James brought West African drumming to the Adirondacks in 2006 after moving from California to be with his girlfriend, Karen. In the summer of 2006 Wulaba, the performance group, was formed from students in his class. Wulaba performs in shows, charity events and for private performances.
